Just the other day we had rumors that John Williams and/or JJ Abrams could be writing the theme song for the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels. Now MakingStarWars.net is reporting that one of Abrams frequent collaborators Michael Giacchino could be doing the music for the series.
According to MakingStarWars.net, "Michael Giacchino was considered. No one is officially on Star Wars Rebels yet."
Giacchino's track record is quite impressive and spans television (Alias, Lost, Fringe), video games (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor: Vanguard), films (Star Trek, Up, Super 8, The Incredibles) and even the revamped Star Tours attraction at the Disney Parks. He is also a frequent collaborator with Episode VII director JJ Abrams, and if Abrams is planning on taking an active role in all things Star Wars as some have suggested then this move would make a lot of sense.
As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed (or denied) by Lucasfilm or Disney.
