As Star Wars fans, we tend to obsess about getting our hands on anything and everything Star Wars, and sometimes we're surprised to find something we've never encountered before... This is one of those times. A very rare blooper reel from Episode IV: A New Hope has been making the rounds after it surfaced recently. It has since been uploaded to YouTube, which you can watch below:
It is both incredible and hilarious to see legends like Peter Cushing and Sir Alec Guinness lose their composure in some of the most iconic scenes in cinema history. And the comical bumbling of the Stormtroopers makes you wonder how they were able to make the finished film look so good. It is a fascinating thought that, after 30+ years, there are still gems out there like this that we have yet to see.
Update: It appears that this clip originated from the Making Of Star Wars E-book, sort of an unofficial excerpt, if you will. The book is available now and features many more behind the scenes clips from the film. This particular clip was reportedly shown at the latest San Diego Comic Con. You can watch other excerpts here and here and you can also pick up similar e-books for The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.
