As production on Episode VII draws nearer there are many questions about how the film will be shot, given the many recent advancements in film making technologies. While we've already solved the film vs. digital debate, but there are still many questions up in the air - including whether or not the film will be shot in IMAX. It seems there is good chance it will be. According to Ain't It Cool News, IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond adressed the subject at a recent Goldman Sachs conference. Gelfond said,
"We are talking to J.J. Abrams test now about the next Star Wars being used with partly IMAX cameras."
NOTE: You'll note the weird bit of wording "We are talking to J.J. Abrams test now", this is acknowledged by Ain't it Cool News writer Glen Oliver, who believes this is typo from the reader who sent the quote in and that it's suppose to read "We are talking to J.J. Abrams' team now"
Seeing Star Wars in IMAX would be an incredibly cool experience, and a fairly safe bet I would say. Abrams used IMAX for a few shots in Star Trek Into Darkness, so it's not like he's new to the technology.
