Latino Review has once again released an "Exclusive" report filled with casting rumors for Star Wars Episode VII. Kellvin Chavez, the writer behind the report, claims to have heard through his inside sources that both Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron have auditioned for roles in Episode VII:
As for what role Efron would be playing, we don’t know. He could be a Solo kid. But what I was told for sure is the Gosling went in for Skywalker’s son. Yes, that’s right Luke’s kid.
He also adds that Leonardo DiCaprio was also close to being cast, but turned down the role:
Leonardo DiCaprio was up for a role in Star Wars but passed. He passed because he wants to do a project that is being developed and that project is… “Robotech”.
Zac Efron is actually not new to the Star Wars universe, having voiced Anakin Skywalker in Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III. As for Gosling? If this is indeed true, this will be his first Star wars role, but it doesn't take away from his impressive resume. He is a very active and popular actor. Be sure to check out the full article on Latino Review's site.
So is there be any truth to this rumor? Could you see either of these guys in a Star Wars? Let us know in the comments below!
Update: The Huffinton Post is reporting that they have been contacted by Ryan Gosling's representatives who said, "This is not true" regarding his involvement with Episode VII. They also point out that Gosling said he wanted to take a break from acting a few months back.
