The Clone Wars Wins Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animation

After five years of incredible Star Wars stories, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was finally recognized for it's quality with a daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animation.  George Lucas, along with Supervising director Dave Filoni and producers Cary Silver and Athena Portillo, was on hand to accept the award.  Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher presented the award to Lucas and co.  This was The Clone Wars second Daytime Emmy win this year, as David Tennant won for Performer in an Animated Program for his role as Huyang during Season 5.

Everyone, as you know tonight Star Wars: The Clone Wars won an Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animation and David Tennant won Friday for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Series for his work as Huyang.

These awards represent the hard work of everyone who has worked on The Clone Wars' 5 seasons. Whether you worked on Clone Wars in the Bay Area, Singapore, Taipei, or Tokyo we all did this together.

Star Wars fans, your support and dedication to The Clone Wars helped champion our cause year after year. This win is for you as well, thank you from everyone at Lucasfilm, now let's celebrate!!


On behalf of the Star Wars Underworld team, I just want say a huge congratulations to George, Dave, and everyone who worked on this show.  For five years it has been the best thing on television and it's nice to see it getting the acclaim it deserves!
