First Lucasfilm Animation, then LucasArts, and now Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) has been hit will layoffs.  Following today's announcement that LucasArts was all but shutting down, Lucasfilm confirmed that more Layoffs had taken place at ILM, specifically in the IT and support staff departments.  A Lucasfilm spokesperson told Variety, "It’s impossible for ILM to absorb all of those resources, so with this change came the necessity for ILM to align itself and take responsibility for its own resources."

It seems the layoffs just keep coming.  Not even the biggest, most successful special effects companies in the film industry is safe.

The Star Wars Underworld would like to thank the former ILM employees for their work and wish them the best of luck in the future.
