We are saddened to report that Stuart Freeborn, makeup supervisor for the Original trilogy and Star Wars Holiday special, has passed away at age 98. Freeborn worked on many Films including 2001: A Space Odyssey, but his most notable contributions are in the Star Wars Saga. He's responsible for the many Aliens in the Mos Eisly Cantina in A New Hope, as well as Chewbacca's design.  He is also said to have modeled Yoda after both himself and Albert Einstein. And in Return Of The Jedi he took on the task of creating the massive Jabba the Hutt animatronic puppet.

Our most sincere condolences go out to Mr. Freeborn's family & friends. He will be missed greatly but never forgotten.
