The Wrap is reporting that the J.J Abrams is set to direct Star Wars Episode VII. This news comes just weeks after Abrams revealed that he had been approached about the job but turned it down. Today the Wrap, citing an "individual with knowledge of the production" as a source, claims "the lure of the Jedi was too strong" and Abrams will indeed be taking the directors chair. But not so fast, fellow fans! As of writing this there has been no official announcement from Lucasfilm or Disney. Until that happens, this is simply a Rumor. We will keep you updated on further developments...
Update: Several sites including LA Times, The Hollywood Reporter & Deadline have reported that they have confirmed the news via their own inside sources. A Rolling Stone article was posted on the Kennedy/Marshall Company's Facebook page, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy's company. And George Lucas' son, Jett Lucas tweeted this:
