Fans of the Star Wars: Legacy comics rejoice! In a Comic Book Resources exclusive, Dark Horse revealed today that they will be bringing back the series in 2013! This time around, the series, which is set over 100 years after Return of the Jedi, will be written by Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman. The original series (along with it's subsequent mini-series Legacy - War), written by John Ostrander and featured art, in almost every issue, by Jan Duursema, achieved much success and popularity during it's run from 2006 to 2011. This time around the series will star the great Grand-daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia. No word yet on what role characters from the previous series, such as it's star Cade Skywalker, will play. Dark Horse also revealed the cover for the first issue (check it out above), which features art by Dave Wilkins.
This is an interesting direction for Dark Horse to move in, considering the recent announcement of Episodes VII, VIII, and IX may render much of the current post-Jedi Expanded Universe non-canon. Could this suggest that Lucasfilm, Dark Horse, and Del Rey are planning on moving into a multi-verse scenario in order to preserve the current continuity? Only time will tell.
