With the long awaited return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars finally here, fans everywhere are getting excited for the final twelve episodes. The new season, which will be released weekly on Disney+, marks a reunion of sorts for fans who loved the series during its initial six season run getting to go back to the characters and stories that were left unfinished when the show unexpectedly went off the air in 2013.
But it’s not just fans who are relishing the return to this exciting era of Star Wars, production on the seventh season brought back many of the original crew to finish the story they began. Among them is composer Kevin Kiner, who scored all 121 episodes of the original run as well as the theatrical film that kicked off the series in August 2008.
On this episode, Dominic, Ben, and Chris get you set for the new season of The Clone Wars and discuss the latest new about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker home media release. First, Dominic interviews The Clone Wars and Rebels composer Kevin Kiner about his work on the series, including the early days of working with George Lucas, Ahsoka's theme, and what fans can listen for in season seven. Then the guys discuss recent comments from Dave Filoni about Ahsoka's vocal cameo in The Rise of Skywalker and what that means for the future of the character. Plus, Freddie Prinze Jr has high praise for Dave Filoni, our favourite characters, StarWars.com confuses us with their announcement of the saga being released in 4K UHD, and Ben shocks Chris and Dominic with his Star Wars impressions. All this and much more!
Dominic, Ben, Chris, Ciaran, and Dan report from Day One of Star Wars Celebration Chicago. Then Lauren interviews Sam Witwer (Maul on The Clone Wars and Rebels). Plus, the guys talk about their encounters with Steve Sansweet, Vanessa Marshall, and CNN. All this and much more!
Last week at the biennial D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, the Walt Disney company made a number of huge announcements, including the reveal of Rogue One's cast and the official confirmation that "Star Wars Land" is on the way. In addition, they revealed a brand new D23 exclusive poster for The Force Awakens and members of the cast and crew were on hand to present it(above), including Director J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley(Rey), John Boyega(Finn), Oscar Isaac(Poe Dameron) and Lupita Nyong'o(Maz Kanata). Afterward the group spoke with various reporters back stage, resulting in a collection of great interviews that have made their way online. We discovered a few earlier in the week that you can check out here, and we found even more today that you can watch below.
The first one comes from Variety:
The next few come from IGN, which released an extended conversation with J.J. Abrams where he comments on upcoming director Colin, Trevorrow, Gwendoline's Christie's character Captain Phasma, and more, along words from Ridley, Boyega and Isaac:
The following video comes courtesy of Superhero News who spoke with all of the above, as well as Lupita Nyong'o:
Next up we have great presentation from Cineplex who also spoke with the entire ensemble:
And last, but certainly not least, we have this clip from Fandango which includes a few interesting tidbits. Lupita Nyong'o confirms that we will not see her character, Maz Kanata, until the film is released, and later when the interviewer mentions that the staff Rey carries could be Darth Plaguies', Daisy Ridley gives a very intriguing non-answer.
It's great to hear from J.J., Daisy, Oscar and John again, but it was a special treat to see and hear Lupita talk about her, albeit vaguely.
