The last time a tie-in novel to a Star Wars Battlefront video game was released two years ago, there was little connecting the two beyond their title. But the same cannot be said this time around as Christie Golden's Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad serves as an origin story of sorts for the characters we'll be seeing in EA's video game when it hits shelves this November.

Lucasfilm revealed several
of the products that will be exclusively available at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con next month.
In a StarWars.com post, the exclusives for Bio World, Del Rey Books, Gentle Giant, Hallmark, Her Universe, Nixon, Petco, and Stance were revealed. San Diego Comic Con takes place next month from July 19-23, prices on the exclusives range from $8 to $2,500. Check them out below,

Lucasfilm and Del Rey Books released the first preview excerpt from the upcoming novel
Star Wars Battlefront II: Inferno Squad today in
USA Today. The novel serves as both a prequel to the campaign mode in
Star Wars Battlefront II and a follow up to
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The book will see Inferno Squad, led by Commander Iden Versio, tracking down the surviving members of Saw Gerrera's partisans who made it off Jedha following the Death Star attack.
Inferno Squad is written by Christie Golden, who has previously written the novel
Star Wars: Dark Disciple. The novel is slated for a release on July 25th.

Between a
new trailer and
the first gameplay footage, there has been a lot of news about
Star Wars Battlefront II coming out of EA Play this weekend. In addition to all the news about the game itself, we've also learned a fun tidbit about the
Battlefront II tie-in novel
Inferno Squad by Christie Golden (
Star Wars: Dark Disciple). This weekend it was revealed that actress Janina Gavankar, who will play Commander Iden Versio in the game, will narrate the audiobook.
This was first reported by Florian from Jedi-Biblithek on Twitter. The actress later confirmed the news, tweeting, "Secret is out? I can talk about this now?? Tis truuue!!!! And Ms. has me so emotional with this backstory."

Lucasfilm has
announced a new novel set in the aftermath of the events of
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The new novel is titled
Star Wars: Inferno Squad and will follow an elite squad of stormtroopers who are tasked with hunting down the surviving members of Saw Gerrera's Partisans.
Inferno Squad is written by Christie Golden (
