Dave Filoni Shares New 'Star Wars Rebels' Art In Honor Of #RebelsRemembered
It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since Star Wars Rebels ended! The hit animated series concluded with its fourth and final season last year, airing the last episodes exactly one year ago yesterday. To mark the occasion countless fans took to social media to pay tribute to Rebels using the hashtag #RebelsRemembered to share their favorite memories of the series. In response to the outpouring from fans, Star Wars Rebels co-creator and executive Producer Dave Filoni made another rare appearance on social media to give something back to supporters of the show.

Pyramid International Unveils A Plethora of 'Rogue One' Items & Artwork
We are now less than 100 days away from the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and even closer to when all of the new toys and merchandise for the film will be released. Pyramid International has just thrown their hat into the ring with their newest catalog, which includes numerous pieces of merchandise that feature tons of never before seen promotional artwork. All of the characters from Rogue One are featured, including heroes Jyn Erso and K-2SO, as well as the villains Director Krennic, Death Troopers and even Darth Vader himself. Report: The Thrawn Trilogy Is Getting New Cover Art This Fall
Can you believe it's been twenty five years since the release Heir To The Empire? The Thrawn trilogy of books is largely considered to be the foundation on which all the Star Wars Expanded Universe(or "Legends" as it's now called) is built upon, and helped bring the saga back from dormancy prior to the Prequel trilogy films. Now, more than two decades later, the beloved books are making a huge comeback.
At Star Wars Celebration Europe this year it was announced that Grand Admiral Thrawn, the blue skinned, red eyed main antagonist of the books, would be appearing in the Star Wars Rebels animated series. In addition, it was revealed that Timothy Zahn, who wrote the Thrawn trilogy, would be returning to write a new canon novel titled Thrawn that will precede the character's appearance in Rebels. Thrawn's reintroduction into the canon story has drawn renewed interest in the Thrawn trilogy, and it looks as though Lucasfilm is planning to capitalize on it.
Florian at Jedi Bibliothek has uncovered a listing for an upcoming re-issue of the Thrawn Trilogy which will be getting a long overdue facelift. Reportedly, all three books of the trilogy, including Heir To The Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command, will be receiving new cover artwork in this release. The iconic artwork on all three novels has received only minor changes since their release in the 1990's, so it will be exciting to see some updated imagery for these stories.
The re-issue is set for release on September 27th!

'The Art Of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Unveiled At #SDCC
A lot of Star Wars news has been coming out of San Diego Comic Con today. Earlier this afternoon the Star Wars publishing panel took place where we got some new info and reveals. One of the big reveals of the panel was cover artwork for the upcoming book The Art Of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Like the long line of "Art Of" books before it, this one will surely give us a glimpse into the conceptual stage of Rogue One and the artwork that inspired the film. The cover art, which features artwork of K2-SO prominently, was shown at the panel, which you can see below:
The book is written by Josh Kushins with forwards by Doug Chiang, Niel Lamont and Gareth Edwards. It is slated for release on December 16th, the same day Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters!

Info On Film Screenings, Art Show & Floor Plan Released For Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016
If you're headed to London next month for Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016, you'll want to start planning ahead for what you want to see and do at the convention. Thankfully, Lucasfilm is making planning easier with a plethora of announcements today. Four new guests were recently confirmed, and now we have info on some events happening over the course of Celebration, as well as a look at the floor plan.
First off, they confirmed two film screenings for the convention. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope will be screened on the evening of Friday, July 15th. The most recent installment in the Saga, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, will be screened the following evening on Saturday, July 16th. Both films will be shown on the Celebration Stage.
Secondly, the floor plan has been released. On it you can see where the various stages and queuing areas are located and get an overview of the show floor. Click here to check it out!
Lastly, but certainly not least, details on the Star Wars Celebration Art Show were revealed, giving us our first look at the artwork and artists that will be participating. A collection of artists, all of which have been vetted by a panel of Lucasfilm judges, will be presenting their exclusive, limited edition art prints on the show floor for sale. The artwork is nothing short of spectacular, featuring characters and elements from all corners of the Star Wars Galaxy, including several Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Force Awakens pieces. AMC Theatres Reveals Final IMAX 'The Force Awakens' Poster
Over the past few weeks AMC Theatres has been giving away free posters for The Force Awakens to those who buy tickets to IMAX 3D showings of the film on Sundays. This Sunday will be the final day that posters will be up for grabs, and AMC has just revealed the last poster. (You can see the first three here.) They appear to have saved the best for last, as the poster features stunning artwork features Finn and Kylo Ren facing off in the snowy forest of Starkiller Base. Check it out below:
All of the posters have been the work of artist Dan Mumford. Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible in order to get your hands on one of these awesome posters.

AMC Reveals Another Exclusive IMAX Poster For 'The Force Awakens'
As if you needed an incentive to go out to the theater and see The Force Awakens again, AMC Theatres is sweetening the deal for those going on Sunday. Each week since the film premiered AMC has unveiled a new exclusive poster, featuring artwork by Dan Mumford, that is given out to those who see The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D on Sunday.
The first poster featured Rey and BB-8 amidst the ship graveyard on Jakku. The second shows Poe Dameron on his X-Wing with fighters flying overhead. And the latest one, which is slated to be given away this Sunday, January 3rd, features a striking image of Captain Phasma standing amidst the burning ruins of Maz Kanata's castle.. You can check it out below:
So no matter if you're seeing it for the second or tenth time, this Sunday is a great time to head out to your local AMC Theater to see The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D. And there is still one yet to be revealed poster that will be given away the following Sunday on January 17th, so be on the lookout for it!

Poe Dameron Gets A 'The Force Awakens' Character Poster
Back when we got those amazing character posters for The Force Awakens, which featured Rey, Finn, Han Solo, General Leia and Kylo Ren, one question seemed to be on everyone's mind; where's Poe? The Resistance X-Wing pilot, who's described as "the best friggin' pilot in the galaxy" by Oscar Isaac who portrays him in the film, Poe Dameron's presence in various promotional material has been surprisingly underwhelming as of late. But it seems now Lucasfilm is making up for the lack of Poe with a brand new character poster. Poe is in his flight suit with scars on his face, perhaps implying that we're seeing him after his violent encounter with Kylo Ren that was teased in the trailer. The poster was revealed on the official Star Wars Facebook page, which you can check out below!

It's also worth noting that they refer to him as "Black Leader", which confirms a long standing rumor that this will be Poe's call sign in the film. It's also most likely a reference to the fact that Poe flies a Black X-Wing at some point in the film, as we have seen in various trailers and TV spots.

Newsweek Cover Features Star Wars Artwork By Tsuneo Sanda
As we draw closer to the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens it's becoming more and more apparent that Star Wars is everywhere these days. The Force Awakens has apparently made the cover of Newsweek and a special edition of the magazine reportedly focuses on The Force Awakens as well as the rest of the saga. Furious Fanboys reports that the issue has been released and costs around $10. They also got a hold of the cover artwork(above) that was created by legendary Star Wars artist Tsuneo Sanda which features an assortment of characters from the previous six films, along with Rey, Finn, BB-8 and Kylo Ren from Episode VII. Tsuneo Sanda posted the full, wordless artwork on his Facebook page along with a special message, which you can see below:

Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' International Wallpaper Revealed
Latino Review is reporting that a new international wallpaper for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens has surfaced. As you can see above, the image features Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren and General Hux in the same stance we saw on one of the Empire Magazine covers. Behind them the First Order military scene we first saw in the Korean teaser. The words "El Despertar De La Fuerza" in the logo translate to "The Awakening Of The Force". The image comes from JPosters which has made it available to download on their site in multiple sizes. You can check that out here and get some cool wallpaper for your devices. They also have several others featuring previously seen imagery.
While this does appear to be legitimate, we still have to count this as a rumor until officially unveiled by Lucasfilm or Disney.

Report: 'The Force Awakens' Posters Spotted
Looking for something from The Force Awakens to dress up the walls of your Star Wars room? Then the following news might be just for you; Star Wars Action News is reporting that they have acquired photos of three The Force Awakens posters that were reportedly spotted at a Walmart. The trio is shown on the front of a box of rolled and packaged posters that are shown to cost $4.98 each. One features Rey and BB-8 on Jakku surrounded by flying X-Wings, another is adorned with artwork of C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8, and the final poster shows a wide assortment of characters, ships and more. Check them out below:
The bottom poster is includes artwork we've seen in various places, most notably in some promo art that leaked from Russia. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled when visiting your local Walmarts and other retailers and be on the lookout for items like this, and of course, be there at 12:01am on Friday for the kickoff of "Force Friday".

Drew Struzan: 'The Force Awakens' May Be The Best Star Wars Film
One legendary name that has been absent from the Star Wars Saga for over a decade, but made a triumphant comeback last weekend, is none other than Drew Struzan. Struzan is the artist behind the theatrical posters for the original six films, along with many other movies, and it was revealed at D23 on Saturday that he would be returning with a new poster for The Force Awakens exclusively for that convention.
More recently, Movie-Weekly sat down with Struzan for a lengthy interview where he talked about his past and current works, including the newly unveiled Episode VII poster. He explained how he was brought back into the Star Wars fold and added that he had seen a portion of the film, and had some high praise for it:
"Well, see it started about a year ago or more, a year and a half ago. I got a call from J.J. Abrams who I have never met, and he was in England shooting the film and he goes ‘Hi, I’ve always loved the work’ and Blah, Blah, Blah, sounding like you, you know, like a fanboy (laughs)…And we were talking along and he just goes ‘…Well, would you?’ and I said ‘…If I was asked.’ And that was the conversation (laughs). By the end of it, there were no other words. So about a year later, we get together and meet and he says we’re using all the original people - John Williams, Kasdan, Harrison Ford’s in it, everybody’s in it and everybody’s writing and making the music and we have to have your art to make it the real thing. So, of course, I’ve got to do it for George and I’ve got to do it for Star Wars. I’ve never worked with J.J before and so we started working on it and he showed me like half the movie and it was just… a wonderful film and I know it’s going to be grand. I got to read the script and subsequently I’ve seen half of it and I can tell you and the fans this, Honest to god, it is far and away probably going to be THE BEST Star Wars you’ve ever seen... it’s beautifully made and it’s a wonderful story."
Struzan actually isn't the first to make this claim. Late last year C-3PO himself, Anthony Daniels, tweeted that The Force Awakens may top The Empire Strikes Back, which is considered by many to be the best of the six movies so far. While we must be careful not to set our expectations to high for this film, it's certainly encouraging to hear such positive words from those who have actually seen Episode VII, at least partially.

'Art Awakens' Fan Art Competition Announced
Today StarWars.com announced a new fan art competition titled "Art Awakens." It is being presented by Lucasfilm and HP(Hewlett-Packard) who are encouraging amateur artist in the United States to submit art inspired by Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The competition begins today and will run for two months. The submitted art will be judged by a committee made up of members from Disney, Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic. Five winners will be chosen and their work will be featured in a professional art gallery exhibit later this year. Those winners will have the chance to attend the VIP opening night for The Force Awakens in Los Angeles. One of the five will be given the HP "Bend the Rules" award upon getting the highest score on a specific questionnaire and will be presented with an HP Notebook Computer.
Also, a special Star Wars: The Force Awakens art exhibit is slated to be held at Gallery 1988 in L.A for three days in November and will host pieces by emerging contemporary and top professional artists. New original artwork will be auctioned off to benefit UNICEF Kid Power for Star Wars: Force For Change.

Russian 'The Force Awakens' Promo Art Revealed (Updated!)
We're less than six months out from the release of The Force Awakens, and it seems reveals from the film are becoming more frequent as of late, both officially and unofficially. The latest somewhat unofficial sneak peek at Episode VII comes to us from Russia. Our friends at Making Star Wars uncovered a very cool looking promotional poster for The Force Awakens which features an ominous Kylo Ren in the center flanked by Finn, Chewbacca, Rey, Captain Phasma and a First Order Flame Trooper. You may also notice the previously unseen blaster that Finn is holding, plus TIE Fighters to the right, and X-Wing to the left and what looks to be the Millennium Falcon in the bottom left corner.
Our good friend Dan Grievous has provided us with a translation of the text on the poster:

Star Wars The Force Awakens in theaters 17th of December
The Legendary Saga that captured the imagination/hearts of millions across the world.
