'The Force Awakens' Novelization Hits #1 on New York Times Best Sellers List

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is number one all time at the box office in North America, and now the film's novelization has hit #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List.  The novel is written by Alan Dean Foster, who also ghost wrote for George Lucas the novelization for the original Star Wars back in 1977.  Lucasfilm's Senior Editor Jennifer Heddle announced the news in a tweet earlier today.

'The Force Awakens' Hardcover Novelization Release Date Revealed

At last we know the release date for the hardcover novelization of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, it's January 5th, 2016!  As, I'm sure you've noticed, the novel comes out a little over two weeks after the film.  However if you don't want to wait that long Del Rey announced back at Celebration in April that the novel will be available as an eBook on December 18th, 2015, the same day as the film.  The novel is written by Alan Dean Foster, who ghost wrote the novelization of the original film back in 1977.  

I love the way they are releasing the novel as an eBook the same day as the film.  It allows those who want to read the book immediately to do so, while preventing leaks from coming out from book stores or distributors.
