For fans of the animated series Star Wars Resistance we have some good and bad news. The good news is that we have a new trailer for season two, as well as a premiere date. The bad news is that this upcoming season will be the very last of Resistance.
Earlier today Lucasfilm revealed the amazing new trailer along with an assortment of details. They confirm that the second season will premiere on Disney Channel on Sunday, October 6th at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, and future episodes will subsequently air on Disney XD. This second season will take place between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker, as this brief synopsis confirms:
"Set amid the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the story picks up after a harrowing escape from the First Order, as Kazuda Xiono and the denizens of the Colossus wind up lost in space, pursued by Agent Tierny and Commander Pyre who have taken Tam Ryvora aboard their ship."
Returning cast members will include Christopher Sean as Kazuda Xiono, Scott Lawrence as Jarek Yeager, Myrna Velasco as Torra Doza, Suzie McGrath as Tam Ryvora, Josh Brener as Neeku Vozo, Donald Faison as Hype Fazon, Elijah Wood as Jace Rucklin, Jim Rash as Flix and, Bobby Moynihan as Orka, Liam McIntyre as Commander Pyre, Jason Hightower as Captain Doza, and Sumalee Montano as Agent Tierny.
This new season will also feature some new faces and voices, including Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike) as Ax Tagrin, Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) as Norath Kev, Matthew Wood (The Clone Wars) as Kylo Ren, and Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) as the Aeosian Queen.

And with all of that good news comes the bad news that Star Wars Resistance will be drawing to a close. Lucasfilm confirms that this will be the "epic second, and final, season" of Resistance. It is truly saddening to know that Star Wars Resistance will be ending so soon, especially after such a strong first season. But it looks as though season two will be upping the stakes for our heroes, and the series is now sure to end on a high note.
