Ben Daniels, who played General Antoc Merrick in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was born on this day in 1964.

The English actor portrayed a human male pilot who served in the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War and helped in the Alliance's attainment of the Death Star plans in the battle of Scarif.


The 53-year-old started his career as a stage actor and was nominated for an Oliver Award for Best Supporting Actor for Never the Sinner (1991) and for his performance in the Arthur Miller play All My Sons (2001). 

Mr. Daniels has also appeared in a number of popular TV series inclding Law & Order: UK (2009-11), House of Cards (2013-14) and The Exorcist (2016).
