Images of New 'The Last Jedi' Characters Leak

A new set of images from Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi appear to have leaked.  The images were posted online by the Facebook Page Templo Jedi Aztlan.  The images look to be from an upcoming book, and give us new looks at the First Order's Assault Walkers, as well as a couple of new characters (who we had heard about in rumors).  It's likely that we will see these images released in an official capacity prior to the film's release, however if you are trying to avoid all The Last Jedi spoilers stop reading now.  This is your official SPOILER ALERT!

The red character is described as being an Elite Praetorian Warrior.  This matches the description that our pals over at MakingStarWars.net posted of the "Praetorian" guards not tool long ago.  MSW described them as being Snoke's personal and as being, "a new spin on the Royal Guards that Emperor Palpatine used. They have glossy red armor, shell plating, and matte red cloth elements for the capes and such."  MSW also recently posted their sketch of another one of the Praetorian Guards.

This leak also appears to confirm another MSW leak.  Back in October, MSW reported that we would see a stormtrooper variant, known as "The Executioner."  This trooper was described as having, "a matte black line that goes over half his mask on one side that sets him apart" and wielding a weapon "not unlike FN-2199’s at the handle but it has three spinning blades on the end that are said to be like something out of Phantasm".  (For those wondering who FN-2199 is, he's the trooper who yells "Traitor!" at Finn during the battle on Takodonna).

It's also cool to get a good (non-Lego) look at the First Order Assault Walker seen briefly in the distance in the teaser trailer.  The gun "top" of the body portion above the "head" of the Walker is an interesting.  In the design where you can see the Walker from the side, you can really see why these are sometimes referred to as the Gorilla Walker (another MSW scoop).

Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.  The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro, and Lupita Nyong'o.
