By Ciaran Duggan,
Lucasfilm and Electronic Arts announced a multi-year agreement to create Star Wars video games on this day in 2013.
The announcement stated EA would publish Star Wars games developed by Visceral Games, DICE and BioWare. The agreement covered all titles aimed at core gamers on "all interactive platforms".
As seen in recent years Disney still preserves the right to make Star Wars games compatible for mobile devices, tablets and the internet.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in the press release: "Our number one objective was to find a developer who could consistently deliver our fans great Star Wars games for years to come.
"When we looked at the talent of the teams that EA was committing to our games and the quality of their vision for Star Wars, the choice was clear."
Some of the Star Wars games released by EA include Star Wars Battlefront (2015), Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Star Wars The Old Republic and coming out in November year will be the much anticipated Star Wars Battlefront II.
