Yesterday it was announced that Woody Harrelson had been cast in the upcoming young Han Solo film. Harrelson's casting was originally reported by Variety, who claimed that he had been casting in the role of Han Solo's mentor. While this was not confirmed in the official announcement, Harrelson himself commented on it during a Facebook Live Q&A he took part in with Mashable. Check it out for yourself below (the Star Wars talk begins with about 6:40 left),
Harrelson described his character saying, "I'm a mentor to Han but I'm also a bit of a criminal. I don't think I should say much more than that because the Force is not allowing me."
The Han Solo film hits theaters in 2018 and is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Harrelson joins a cast that already includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke in an unknown role.
