Every new Star Wars film brings new ship designs, and this year's Star Wars Episode VIII will be no different.  While the time between Episode VIII and The Force Awakens is minimal, that hasn't stopped the designers at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic from dreaming up new ship designs.  According to a new report from our friends at MakingStarWars.net, this includes a new design for an elite TIE Fighter, piloted by one of the film's main antagonists.  This isn't a huge spoiler, but if you are trying to avoid all Episode VIII spoilers then stop reading now.  This is your SPOILER ALERT!

"We’ve heard a credible rumor that in Star Wars: Episode VIII Kylo Ren has a personal ship. The ship, like some of his new costume will seem a little familiar as it is a First Order TIE Advanced. His ship is slightly unlike his grandfather’s used in the attack against the rebels at the Death Star trench. The fuselage is sort of pill shaped like the TIE Striker in Rogue One. They actually built the ship physically at Pinewood according to our friends near the sets."

As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.

Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15th, 2017 and stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, John Boyega, and Carrie Fisher.  The film is directed by Rian Johnson.
