While many actors in Star Wars are know to be passionate about their roles, few are as passionate and excited about being a part of the saga as Diego Luna. He's previously said that one reason he wanted the role of Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was simply to have the chance to go to Star Wars Celebration. He also discussed his emotional response to seeing Darth Vader on set.
Now Diego Luna is back and he just spilled a handful of interesting details about Rogue One. Luna was featured on the cover of the most recent issue of the Mexican edition of Vanity Fair, and inside he discussed a variety of topics, including Star Wars. While the original interview is in Spanish, the guys at Star Wars News Net provided us with some translated snippets from it.
First off, he mentions that the Rogue One promotional tour will begin in Mexico, which will include himself, director Gareth Edwards and several other actors from the film visiting the country for a few days. About the film itself, he goes on to explain that the story of Rogue One will be seen from Jyn's perspective:
"The story in the movie is seen through the eyes of Jyn Erso."
Luna also alludes to a sizable amount of cameos and Easter Eggs in Rogue One::
"The movie is full of references, small tributes and characters that fall in this chronology of events."
In addition, he also reveals that some of the scenes in the film were as dangerous as they looked and he actually sustained a number of injuries while filming Rogue One:
"I took a lot of injuries. My chest still hurts a lot. There are some accidents that will actually end up in the final cut of the film. In a scene where we were running against a strong wind I badly hurt my cornea while trying to remove some debris from my eye. I used a patch during the last days of filming."
