Rian Johnson Shares More 'Episode VIII' Set Photos, Announces Filming Is Halfway Done

By: Benjamin Hart

Filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII is halfway done, so says writer and director Rian Johnson. In a new post on his Tumblr today, Johnson announced the news, and even better, revealed some brand new set photos from the film. Johnson has made a habit of revealing things on his Tumblr blog, previously posting photos of the Millennium Falcon set and Lupita Nyong'o performing Maz Kanata. This time we get a sneak peak at a crew members cleaning various sets, including a Resistance X-Wing and a First Order work station, both of which are manned by actors in full costume. In addition he wrote:

"I can’t believe we’re halfway through the shoot. (We’re halfway through the shoot!)"
