The possibility of an Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthology (stand alone) film, is something that has been rumored for a while, and anytime someone brings it up to Ewan McGregor he seems excited by the idea. Collider recently spoke with McGregor, who played Obi-Wan in the prequel trilogy and for one line in The Force Awakens, and asked him about the possibility of doing an Obi-Wan Anthology film (or three), the possibility of him returning as Force ghost Obi-Wan in Episode VIII or IX, and his experience seeing The Force Awakens. McGregor definitely seems to be hinting at something (though he could always just be messing with us). I would love to see McGregor back as Obi-Wan for more films, so hopefully Disney can make this happen.

ReplyDeleteOkay first of all I'd LOVE to see an Obi Wan Trilogy taking place between Episodes 3 & 4 with Ewan again essaying the role.
ReplyDeleteSecond of all since they mentioned someone commenting coming up with the idea of how to bring him in as Obi Wan's force ghost when he should by all rights be (Sadly deceased) Alec Guinness by that point, allow me to do it even if I'm not the first.
All you have to do to insert Ewan as Obi Wan as his force ghost is have him appearing to Luke who would look confused at his appearance and then have Obi Wan say that due to the awakening of the dark side the resulting tremors in the force has altered his ability to manifest himself and that now he must be seen as himself when he was younger before the dark side was so strong. They'll probably never use it or even have him in Episodes 8 or 9 but since the interviewer threw down the gauntlet I felt compelled to pick it up! :D
They should only do it if they will reference to the bushes of love
ReplyDeleteWould love to see an Obi Wan film. Ewan is a great actor and he was one of the few good elements of the prequel trilogy. To be given a film to shine in and given the quality of the new films that are coming this is a money making no brainer. Come on Disney. .. give the fans this film!!!!
