To no one's surprise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is shattering box office records already. The film has already beaten the records set by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 for highest gross on a Thursday and a Friday. The Force Awakens made $57 million on Thursday night (beating Harry Potter's $43.5 million) and $100 million on Friday (beating Harry potter's $91.1 million). The Wrap also reports that the film may have actually made as much as $130 million by the end of Friday.
How many times have you seen The Force Awakens so far? (I've seen it three times so far). Let us know in the comments!

I went once last night. I was surprised at how good it actually was. Good job to Disney and J.J. Abrams. It really captured the feeling of it really being set in that galaxy far far away...
ReplyDeleteReally, it was a Carbon copy of "a new hope" J.J. was clearly afraid that fans would brutalized him if it flopped like "the Phantom menace"
DeleteNo! Bad Unknown who was to cowardly to use his/her real name. Go back in the corner and don't speak until at least episode 10

DeleteSeen it just once so far. Will probably go see it again today. And as for people calling it a remake... I think Disney played it safe. They kept it similar in ways to the original film, which is fine by me because I personally think it's better than 'A New Hope', but I believe the next episode will be something very special indeed. Now that they have dusted the cobwebs off the franchise they can let their hair down. However it's fairly obvious that Luke will be training Rey, so we'll probably still get people whining saying that Luke is the new Yoda and that the movie is a remake of 'Empire Strikes Back'...
