ABC followed through on their promise to release new footage from Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens during their #TGIT block of shows tonight.  They released a 45-second TV spot for the new film featuring lots of new footage and dialogue, mixed in with some stuff we've seen before.  Check it out below,

Wow!  That was awesome!  A definite highlight was seeing Han Solo shooting down a stormtrooper for the first time in 30 years (at the first time we've seen him do so in 30 years).  Plus some great shots from Jakku, Finn fighting a stormtrooper using the lightsaber, and General Leia leading a war meeting at the Resistence base.

What did you think of the trailer?  Let us know in the comments below!

Han Solo, Episode IV: "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no substitute for a good blaster at your side, kid."

Han Solo, Episode VII: (Hands lightsaber to Rey) "Here. You might need this."

ackbar on the right, right?

I think that's actually a blaster, possibly a 'newer' one than what we saw in IV-VI, hence the different look.

Marco, I was wondering the same thing. ACKBAR!! Or maybe just another Mon Cal, but I hope it was Ackbar.

OK lets stick with the no more footage now no more until after the release of the film please. After all we have been waiting over 30 years for this film. The Prequels were Star Wars but not the films we wanted although it did help in the long run.

Looked like a staff but probs

Unknown said...

Han definitely hands her a blaster

How do you think BB-8 gets back up stairs? And that was definitely a blaster (or something) not a saber.

Unknown said...

Isn't there a shot of someone with a hoody and metal( robot) right hand touching r2 d2 type robot? Isn't that a possibility that is Luke???

Han hands her a blaster - if you look closely, the grip is the same as the Mauser-based blaster he used in Ep IV. Also, the Stormtrooper Finn attacks has definitely got some sort of electronic staff/weapon that fries when hit by the light saber.
