We've been waiting since April for another trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Director JJ Abrams promised a new trailer would be coming in the fall, and ever since it officially became fall, fans have been waiting on pins and needles for word to drop about when we'll see the new trailer. Rumors have been circulating that we would see it in a few weeks, but more recently rumors have suggested we might have to wait until November to see the trailer. While we still haven't got word about when we'll see it, though Cinelinx's Jordan Maison reported that the new trailer is actually done and being circulated behind the scenes at Disney.
#StarWars trailer is "done" & making it's rounds about Disney corp...so are a handful of TV spots...But release is still nebulous.

Based on this, it would seem safe to assume that the release of the trailer is due for a sooner rather than later release. With tickets for the film expected to go on sale in a couple of weeks it would make sense to see them tie in the release of the new trailer with the tickets sale.
As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.

Fans definitely want another trailer/teaser/whatever (myself included), but there's really no need for it...put "Star Wars" on the marquee and tickets will sell...that said, I'd look for a trailer around mid-month, about two months removed from release...
ReplyDeleteyeah, i already feel like i've seen more than i'd like in retrospect lol but self-mitigation when it comes to this is a lost cause.
ReplyDeleteI know that the name "star wars" sells itself, but marketing ALWAYS boosts sales. People say they don't need to market this film, but I guarantee whatever money star wars would make without another trailer, it will make a noticeable amount more if they release a trailer right before selling tickets to get Star Wars into the minds of the non-fans. I'm counting down the days to this film, but some of my less nerdy acquaintances are only vaguely aware that a new star wars movie is coming soonish. The marketing is not for us (even though we are the ones who want it more) the marketing is for all the demographics who never cared about star wars until they saw this new trailer.
ReplyDeleteTrailer.
ReplyDeleteNow.
I'm hoping it'll come out next week either during the Season 2 premiere of Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD or before Steven Speilberg's Bridge of Spies.
ReplyDeleteI've seen it already and it's spectacular
ReplyDeleteProof?
DeleteI sense a leak.

ReplyDeleteWonder when the official poster is coming out.
ReplyDeleteIt is...
DeleteIt is...
DeleteMaybe the next week during the Rebels season 2 premier in Disney XD Channel
ReplyDeleteAnd what about the final póster?
Well the TV stations here in Australia are already starting a Star Wars marathon every Saturday so people can catch up with the other movies before the new ones come out and I guarantee that the cinemas will more than likely do the same probably the week before the movie comes out but I'd love to see a new trailer just before that point
ReplyDeletelooks like something may be coming this weekend: http://furiousfanboys.com/2015/10/is-starwars-com-preparing-for-a-trailer-release/#YQFmgU40gt4hP7hj.99
