File this one under rumors that we're skeptical of, but really want to be true. A new post on Reddit is claiming that two new pieces of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Legacy Content are coming in 2016. One is a story reel starring Ahsoka Tano in the underworld of Coruscant, the other is a five issue mini series that will tell the story of what went down on Mandalore following the events of Season 5.
According to the original post,
In 2016 we're going to get at least two new TCW arcs as a story reel and as a comic to coincide with Ahsoka's reappearance in Rebels and her upcoming fight with Vader *First is the Ahsoka Underworld Arc (Has not been officialy named yet) and it has production nr. 605-608 and will be released as a story reel on starwars.com
*Then we're going to get a 5 issue miniseries made my Marvel Comics named Star Wars : The Invasion of Mandalore. The fourth episode was split into 2 issues since it was very action and story packed.
We do know that both of these arcs were in production. The Ahsoka arc described above did make it to story reel form and at least one of the episodes had been recorded with the main cast. We saw a clip of this at the "The Untold Clone Wars" Panel back in April at Star Wars Celebration. You can see the clip at 47:50 in the video below,
As much as I want this rumor to be true, I'm skeptical. Firstly, I'm skeptical of any rumor that comes from Reddit. But more importantly, I find it hard to believe that once The Force Awakens comes out Disney will want to do much looking back at the TV series they cancelled when they bought Lucasfilm. That being said, I would love to be wrong about this.
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
