Rian Johnson Tweets a Thank You to the People of County Kerry After Episode VIII Shoot

The crew of Star Wars Episode VIII were out in Coast Kerry, Ireland for the first bit of shooting on the 2017 film this week and it seems they've got everything they need from Skellig Michael (the island of the coast where they were shooting).  Director Rian Johnson tweeted out his thanks to the people of Coast Kerry for their hospitality during the shoot.

So just as quickly as they arrived, they have already left.  This would also explain why Mark Hamill was out at a pub last night.  This does not mean they are done shooting Episode VIII by any means.  Principle Photography is expected to begin again late this year/early next year.  The Skellig Michael shoot is believed to have scheduled well in advance of the rest of the shoot so that the crew could get the weather conditions they wanted for the film.

Star Wars Episode VIII hits theatres on May 27th, 2017.
