Matthew McConaughey, who's best know for his roles in Dallas Buyers Club(2013), The Wolf Of Wall Street(2013) and the recently premiered Interstellar, recently let it be know that he would be open to a role in a future Star Wars film. IGN spoke with the Oscar winner at a press conference for Interstellar and asked him, along with several other cast members, who their favorite Sci-fi characters are. McConaughey answered with Chewbacca, and then was later asked if he would be interested in making the jump to a Galaxy far, far away, to which he responded:
“Sure – there’s not anything that I’m not open to embracing” he replied. “I want it to be a quality script, I want a quality character. I want to be a little scared of it. I want to have new challenges. I want to do something… find in a character where I can get to a point where I feel like nobody could be doing this but me. I’m going to have an original experience… an original take. That takes work to get to that point, but whatever the genre I’m wide open.”

He's proven his acting ability (more so than most of the current cast), but his accent might be too distracting.
ReplyDeleteHe has proven himself as an actor adopting more than one character type and more than one accent, any Star Wars film would be improved by his presence
ReplyDeleteThe 14th commandment. "Thou shalt not bastardize the saga that is Star Wars." NNOOO.
ReplyDeleteUgh
ReplyDeleteWell, Rust Kohle-isms are pretty dang close to Yoda-isms...
ReplyDeleteI hate McConaughey. He is so annoying and has no range. He is the same guy in every movie. grrrrr. I really hate the idea of him in these movies.
