Rumor: Trilogy of Obi-Wan Kenobi Films in the Works

We heard a few weeks ago that Lucasfilm may have begun work on a Obi-Wan Kenobi stand alone film.  Now Cinelinx is reporting that that's not entirely true.  According to them, three Obi-Wan stand alone films are in the works!  Now these wouldn't make a traditional trilogy but rather three separate stand alone films.

According to Cinelix's source,
"First up, they are not talking about an Obi-Wan spin-off movie but a trilogy of Obi-Wan movies. I need to stress that these movies are not connected. They aren't part of a story arc but 3 separate Obi-Wan adventures set between Episodes III and IV."

"It seems like the 3 movie ideas are as follows:

One set completely on Tatooine and two where Obi-Wan travels elsewhere in the Galaxy.

Qui-Gon Jinn is very much present in these stories.  So too is Owen Lars. Several characters from the Clone Wars T.V show would make an appearance.  There would be flashbacks to Obi-Wan fighting in the Clone Wars."

I have to say, that sounds very exciting. The prospect of seeing more live action Clone Wars action, especially featuring some of the characters the animated series (Ahsoka?), is very tantalizing.  Plus, seeing some interaction between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon on Tatooine would be fantastic.  Especially since both Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson have said they're open to returning to the franchise.  Suffice to say, I like this rumor.

As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
