A new rumor has sparked up that Disney will be re-airing the premiere episode of Star Wars Rebels, titled "Spark of Rebellion", on ABC on October 26th, and that the episode will included a brand new scene featuring Darth Vader. This was reported on Twitter by Brooks Barnes, a New York Times entertainment writer, who also reached out to a Disney PR person about whether James Earl Jones would provide the voice to which he got a creative response that amounts to 'no comment.'

Wow! This could be a huge deal! My one question is, why would Disney wait for a re-airing of the premiere to include the Vader scene? You would think they'd want that in the episode from the beginning to build more buzz about the series. One possibility is that this could be a re-airing of a different episode from down the line with a Vader scene, and that this story got a bit misconstrued (as happens with rumors). And if James Earl Jones is truly returning to the role of Darth Vader...wow, that would be simply amazing.
And if Lucasfilm really wanted to create some extra buzz, they could debut the aforementioned Vader scene this weekend at New York Comic Con. Imagine the crowd reaction, and with reveal like that....Lucasfilm might just "win" New York Comic Con.
As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
