Latino Review Elaborates On Episode VII Leaks

Star Wars Episode VII rumors have been everywhere these past couple days. Now the good folks at Latino Review are getting in on the action and adding their two cents to the recently leaked photos and info. While they normally release a weekly Star Wars column, this week they split it into three parts. All the notable information that they revealed is below. Possible SPOILERS ahead, of course!

First of all, they support Indie Revolver's Stormtrooper photos and add:

"These aren't the only variations on Troopers we’ll see. If you remember, we have been chasing rumors of a black and/or chrome Stormtrooper and I’m going to double down on one of those: There is a chrome Stormtrooper and s/he appears this way because that armor has the power to CLOAK. Invisible Troooper! Good for stalking."

Next, they reiterate another rumor we've been hearing for a while, that the main antagonist of Episode VII will be Sith Inquisitor(s). And they throw something else into the mix:

"When our hero(es) find Luke and the Inquisitors are revealed, Luke’s explanation on the history of this order is going to trigger a flashback to explain that the Inquisitors have been tied into the Sith all along."

And on top of that they claim that Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, whom they previously reported has been cast in the film, will play a young Princess Leia in a flashback. And remember the rumors about Darth Vader showing up in Episode VII? Well, Latino Review has something to say about that too:

"The Inquisitors will be seen serving Darth Vader in flashback. Yes, Darth Vader will be on screen, briefly, in Star Wars: Episode VII. We’re not done with the dark prince of the Sith quite yet."

They also posted a speculative piece that basically explains how they believe all media moving forward will intersect with each other, and that the ground work for this cohesion is being laid in the upcoming novel A New Dawn.

So what can we take from all this? Sure, it all seems to make sense, but there are a few problems. At the A New Dawn panel back at San Diego Comic Con, Pablo Hidalgo, of the Lucasfilm story group, made it clear that flashbacks are not how Star Wars stories are told. So this idea, as fascinating as it may seem, contradicts the words of the powers that be at Lucasfilm. Also, Latino Review treats the Inquisitor news as if it were brand new, when on the contrary, that rumor has obviously been circulating online for months now.

So, as always, take all this with a giant grain of salt and wait for official word from Lucasfilm.
