Gary Oldman: "They've Called" About Episode VII

Time to add another name to the list of actors who have been approached about being in Star Wars Episode VII.  While promoting his role in the Robocop remake, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight trilogy, Harry Potter) was asked by Sky Movies if he had been approached about being in Episode VII.  Oldman replied by saying, "They've called",  but wouldn't go much further than that, explaining that there was still no deal in place.

Check out the interview below,

When it comes to Oldman, like many of the other big name actors rumored to be in the film, my one concern is that we already know them from too many other things.  They run down Oldman's impressive list of credits in the video (Batman, Harry Potter, Planet of the Apes, Robocop), so there's plenty of blockbuster hits in there that might make him too recognizable.  That being said, as long as he's cast in role where we won't think Oh there's Commissioner Gordon or Hey look, it's Sirius Black in Episode VII, then I'm on board.

What do you think?  Would you like to see Gary Oldman in Star Wars?  Fire away in the comments below, tweet us @TheSWU, or join the discussion in Club SWU on Facebook!
