While we anticipate the upcoming TV series Star Wars Rebels, we must unfortunately give a final farewell to an original Rebel. Christopher Malcolm, best know to Star Wars fans as Zev Senesca in The Empire Strikes Back, passed away on Saturday, February 15th. This sad news comes via a tweet from Christopher's daughter:
Today the world lost a beautiful, brilliant man. My dad Christopher Malcolm left peacefully and with dignity. He will always be my hero. X

Christopher's role in The Empire Strikes Back as Zev was small but very important. Zev, also know as "Rogue Two", is the Rebel pilot who finds Han Solo and Luke Skywalker after they survived a dangerously cold Hoth night. Later he would fly alongside Luke in the Battle of Hoth. Outside of Star Wars, Christopher had an extensive film, TV and on-stage career. In 1973 he stared as Brad Majors in the orignal stage production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also had important roles in films such as Highlander and another Lucasfilm production, Labyrinth. All of us at the SWU express our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Christopher Malcolm. His contributions to the Star Wars saga will never be forgotten.
