Rumor: Working Titles For Episode VII?

By: Benjamin Hart

Grab your salt and get ready for some more Episode VII rumors! Today we have interesting tidbit from everyone's favorite rumor mill, the Latino Review. Kellvin Chavez reports that he has learned about two working titles for Star Wars Episode VII. He writes:

I was exclusively told that during that time, it seems that George had two working titles for Star Wars: Episode VII that were competing in his mind: Return of the Sith and Rise of the Jedi! These working titles were turned over to the Disney Company through the sale, BUT, there is no guarantee whatsoever that Disney will use these titles for the movie.

I sense a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Star Wars fans suddenly face-palmed.

Yes, these do sound a bit ridiculous, considering how close they are to Return Of The Jedi and Revenge Of The Sith. Even A new Dawn sounds more logical. But they are working titles, so who knows? As always, take this with a grain of salt until we get official word from Lucasfilm.

In the meantime, let us know what you think about this in the comments below or on Facebook! Also be sure to check out our Facts & Rumors page to make sure you know what's true and what's not about Episode VII.

  1. I like A New Dawn better. Is there any news on Ewan McGregor coming back as Obi-Wan?

  4. Here's my guess for the opening...

I reckon a classic opening scene for Ep VII would be a Star Destroyer going overhead, an Imperial shuttle dropping out and follow it down to a planet and when it lands it looks like the Emperor is walking out but it's luke in jedi robe with his apprentices... and then we get that the Republic is now using the ships that the Empire used etc - and then when they walk out they instantly enter into Jedi training exercises / tests and challenges with Luke watching on as a coach...

And after they complete their training exercises Luke says "Do you know why today is a special day...?" and they say "Why...?" and then Luke motions them to sit down and he tell them they are now to be knighted Jedi Knights, and all around them the spirits of past Jedis appear... and then Luke performs the knighting ceremony. It's really magical and goes really well, but at the end when they all return to the ship, as the students (now Jedi) walk on board Luke notices something to the side of the ship and when he looks closer it is the spirit of Sidius/Palpatine watching him...
