JJ Abrams Discusses Episode VII Casting

While fans anxiously await the first official casting announcement for Star Wars Episode VII, director JJ Abrams has this update (sort of) when it came to casting the film.

"We're working our asses off trying to get things in place with casting."

Well there's nothing really Earth shattering there, but it's good to know that they're working hard and taking things seriously.  Hopefully this means we can expect some official announcements soon!  On a slightly more intriguing note, JJ was also asked about actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who's been rumored to appear in the next film.  His response:

"I love that guy."

While that's hardly a confirmation, it's definitely not a denial.  JJ had the opportunity to put those rumors to bed once and for all and he didn't.  This could just be classic Abrams misdirection, or it could mean (as we have long speculated) that Cumberbatch is in talks to appear in the film, however no contracts have been signed and thus no one can talk about it.
