This weekend's ongoing #SaveTheCloneWars campaign organized by The Star Wars Underworld has generated over 7,000 tweets in a 24-hour period according to the independent Twitter research site Hashtags.org. Participating fansites and organizations included RebelForce Radio, JediNews.co.uk, Club Jade, The Star Wars Report, Yoda News, Sandtroopers.com, Following the Nerd, and The ForceCast.

High profile members of the Star Wars community also got in the mix, including Fanboys director Kyle Newman and actor Sam Huntington, geek blogger Amy Radcliff, and Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News.

Lucasfilm or Disney has yet to acknowledge the campaign, however it is clearly gaining steam, with hundreds of social media users changing their profile images to #SaveTheCloneWars graphics and the #SaveTheCloneWars Facebook page nearing 2,000 likes.
