Fan Film Awards Canceled

It's a sad day for fan film makers everywhere. After the disappearance of Atom Films this year, LucasFilm has decided to cancel the Official Star Wars Fan Film Awards. An inquiry by TheForce.net learned that LucasFilm has canceled this years awards and are "looking for new ways for fans to share their creativity."

On a personal note, as a fan film maker myself I must say I am saddened by this news as the awards gave a certain legitimacy to fan film making. I had hoped to enter my upcoming film Star Wars: Onslaught into these awards if not this year, than next and am disappointed I won't get the opportunity to do so. I hope LucasFilm gets it together and finds a new partner so the show can go on, next year.
