On This Day: July 12, 1983
The first book in Del Rey's Lando Calrissian Adventures series was published on this day back in 1983.
The Lando Calrissian Adventures were a series of novels which detail the experiences of Lando Calrissian as captain of the Millenium Falcon before he lost it to Han Solo.
The novels were written by L. Neil Smith and published in 1983 at the price of just $2.50.

Ron Howard Tweets More 'Han Solo' Behind The Scenes Photos
It's only been a few weeks since the big director shakeup for the Han Solo film, which replaced directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller with Ron Howard. Since then the veteran director has been hard at work on the still untitled film, and has been very open(well, as open as he can be) on social media about his experiences on set.

'Star Wars Battlefront' Bespin DLC Trailer Released

With E3 currently happening in Los Angeles, video games have been a major discussion topic in Star Wars fandom this week. One of the most recent big reveals is information and footage from the upcoming Bespin expansion for Star Wars Battlefront, and today we got a launch trailer for the DLC! In it, we get our first looks at the two new hero characters, Lando Calrissian and Dengar. The trailer features dialogue from Lando who is unmistakably voiced once again by Billy Dee Williams. You will also spot a number of iconic locations, including the Carbon Freezing chamber. We also see various soldiers and vehicles, including AT-ATs, AT-STs, Twin Pod Cloud Cars and the Emperor's Royal Guards. You can watch the trailer below:
Season pass holders will have the opportunity to get their hands on the Bespin DLC starting June 21st. It will subsequnetly be released to the public on July 5th.

New Trailer For 'Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures' Released
While we await the premiere of season three of Star Wars Rebels, and the release of the next Star Wars film, it's easy to forget there is plenty of exciting things happening in the Galaxy far, far away in the meantime. If you're a Lego fan(who isn't?), then you'll want to keep an eye on a brand new animated series titled "The Freemaker Adventures".
The upcoming series is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi and focuses on a family of Scavengers. A new trailer was released for The Freemaker Adventures which features plenty of new teases. Several major Star Wars characters show up in the trailer, such as Darth Vader, Maz Kanata, Lando Calrissian and Leia Organa along with the show's central characters, which include Zander Freemaker(voiced by Eugene Byrd), Rowan Freemaker(voiced by Nicolas Cantu), Kordi Freemaker(voiced by Vanessa Lengies) and the family's Battle Droid companion R0-GR(voiced by Matthew Wood). New Key Art & Details About Star Wars Battlefront's Bespin Expansion
If Star Wars Battlefront players aren't excited, they should be. A much anticipated planet, along with some beloved characters, are finally being added to the game in an upcoming DLC. Next month the Bespin expansion will allow players battle above gas giant and in and around Cloud City while utilizing new characters, vehicles and weapons. The Twin-Pod Cloud Car will be a flyable ship and Lando Calrissian and Dengar will be included as new hero and villain characters, respectively. You will be able to visit many locations on Cloud City such as the Administrator’s Palace, Bioniip Laboratories and the iconic carbon-freezing chambers. New weapons include the X-8 Night Sniper, EE-4 blaster and Dengar's DLT-19 heavy blaster. While Dengar will rely on his weapon, Lando's most valuable trait is said to be "knowing the odds and using tricks against his enemies".
The Bespin expansion will be available to all starting July 5th, but will be available two weeks early on June 21st exclusively for season pass holders. You can get more information and photos by visiting the official Battlefront site.

Darth Vader #8 & Lando #3 Comic Previews Revealed
While we anxiously await Star Wars' return to our big, and small screens, the talented folks at Marvel have been doing an awesome job entertaining us with all new Star Wars comics. One of the series, titled "Darth Vader", focuses on the Sith Lord as he leads a team in search of Luke Skywalker following the destruction of the first Death Star. One of their newly announced mini-series, "Lando", focuses, of course, on Lando Calrissian prior to him become Baron Administrator of Cloud City. Some new previews of both issue #8 of Darth Vader and issue #3 of Lando have surfaced recently.
The first comes from ComicBook.com, who revealed the cover art for Lando #3, as well as the solicitation text:

'Lando' Comic Series Previewed At BookCon
Bookcon is happening now in New York City and some Marvel team members were in attendance to reveal news about their upcoming Star Wars Comics. One of the most intriguing reveals was a preview of the upcoming comic series "Lando", which focuses on, of course, everyone's favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian. Stitch Kingdom attended the "Marvel Presents: Star Wars" panel and shared photos of the cover and pages that were shown there. You can check them out below:

Lando #1 is set to be released in July, with the second following in August. Lando will be a limited series created by Charles Soule and Alex Maleev.

New 'Lando' Comic Series Coming in July from Marvel

In advance of their big panel on Saturday at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, Marvel announced a new comic series launching later this year. StarWars.com announced that "Star Wars: Lando #1" will hit shelves in July. The series is written by Charles Soule and features art by Alex Maleev.
The smooth-talking scoundrel strikes back! Marvel and Lucasfilm announced today that Lando Calrissian — puffer pig collector, Cloud City administrator, and Rebel hero — will star in his own limited series. Lando #1, from creators Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine, Inhuman, She-Hulk) and Alex Maleev (Daredevil, Spider-Woman, Moon Knight), hits stores in July, and finds Lando embarking on his greatest caper ever.
“Is Lando Calrissian the coolest character in all of Star Wars? Depends on who you ask, probably. But if you ask me, the answer is yes, and I plan to prove it with this story,” says series writer Soule.
In Marvel’s Lando, developed closely with Lucasfilm, the titular character — in the days before he became a hero, but still with Lobot at his side — looks to steal one of the galaxy’s most valuable ships. But, as usual, he may be in over his head.
“Before Cloud City, before his glorious Death Star run,” continues Soule, “Lando Calrissian was just a man trying to make his way through an uncaring universe determined not to recognize that he was undeniably the coolest man in the galaxy. But Lando’s got a plan to change all that… and it starts with the deal of a lifetime.”
Hot on the heels of the character’s return in the Star Wars Rebels animated series, Lando joins Marvel’s growing line of critically acclaimed and bestselling Star Wars comics, including Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Star Wars: Princess Leia, and Kanan: The Last Padawan. This deal is getting better all the time.
Marvel has been hitting out of the park with Star Wars comics so far, and I'm sure Lando will be no exception. Now the question is, what else does Marvel have in store for fans at their panel this weekend?

Confirmed: Billy Dee Williams To Return As Lando In 'Rebels'
Hello, what have we here?
The coolest guy in the Galaxy has been surprisingly absent from Star Wars for some time now, especially from The Force Awakens, leaving fans wondering when we'll get to see him again. Well wonder no longer, Entertainment Weekly just confirmed that Lando Calrissian, voiced by none other than Billy Dee Williams, will be appearing in the upcoming Star Wars Rebels episode "Idiot's Array". They released an awesome video featuring Billy Dee and the Rebels crew discussing Lando's return, which you can watch here! Also included was a description of the episode;
"In the episode, Zeb loses the droid Chopper to Calrissian in a game of cards, and the crew of the Ghost agrees to help him make a dangerous run to get their astromech back. But when Lando plots a scheme to trade Hera for secret cargo, “the crew gets far more than it bargained for.”"
Rebels takes place approximately 4 years prior to A New Hope, which means this will be Lando's first chronological appearance in Star Wars canon. Executive Producer Dave Filoni says that Lando is, " still working on all of his moves, all of his strategies,” And Billy Dee Williams adds that this is, "a real good introduction to who he is [and] all the things you've heard about him."
