Fan art has always been a huge part of Star Wars fandom, and talented artist continue to put their talent on display through countless pieces of Star Wars art. James Raiz is one of those artist, and he has made a habit of sharing his breathtaking work with the world through YouTube and social media as "The Box Office Artist".
Former Mythbusters star Adam Savage has become a legend among geeks everywhere for his contagious passion for filmmaking, costuming and collecting. On his YouTube channel, Tested, Savage has made a tradition out of wearing incredible costumes at comic conventions and challenging his fans to spot him in the crowd. Last year he walked the showfloor of San Diego Comic Con as Kylo Ren, and just last month he visited Silicon Valley Comic Con dressed as a familiar walking carpet.
The brilliant folks at Bad Lip Reading have released a brand new video where they revealed their own twisted and hilarious version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. BLP is well known for their viral videos that dub over the original dialogue of movies, TV shows and more(Admit it: You've had that Seagull song stuck in your head at least once.)
Their rendition of The Force Awakens is especially awesome and funny because it includes the voice of The Last Jedi himself, Mark Hamill. If you have heard Mark speak at all at length, you know he can do a pretty hilarious impersonation of his longtime Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford. For the video, the BLP team got Hamill to dub over some of Han Solo's scenes in The Force Awakens, turning some of the film's most emotional moments into comedy gold. On this special episode, Zac and Ben join their friends at NXT LVL during their epic gaming live stream to talk movies, videos, and most importantly, raise money for a good cause. They start off by discussing the recently revealed trailers for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Kong: Skull Island, and the upcoming Duck Tales relaunch. They continue on talking games and playing some awesome and iconic gaming music. Later in the show the entire NXT LVL crew joins in for a Texas sized edition of #BBQWatch!
Yesterday we were teased about something called "The Star Wars Show" that would be coming very soon Today, the first episode dropped and turned out to be even more awesome than we anticipated. As the title implies, The Star Wars Show is a weekly seven minute long Star Wars variety show produced within Lucasfilm headquarters and released via the official Star Wars YouTube channel. It is hosted by Peter Townley and Rebels Recon host Andi Gutierrez. In a short period of time the trio covers a wide range of topics, including some of the latest news, an interview with filmmaker Duncan Jones, a Force For Change update, and a feature on highlighting the importance of a seemingly unimportant Star Wars character. One of the biggest surprises from the episode comes in the form of some never before seen footage from the Maz Kanata's Castle sequence in Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
Lucasfilm’s senior director of content and programming Mickey Capoferri said in a statement:
“There’s an abundance of Star Wars news and information right now and for the foreseeable future. The Star Wars Show will be the place for new and old fans to engage with every aspect of the franchise in fun and authentic ways.”
On December 4th, the YouTube Space LA hosted a Q&A with J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Gwendoline Christie. The panel was moderated by YouTube executive Danielle Tiedt. You can watch the full video below!
With Force Friday right around the corner, and all the The Force Awakensmerchandise leaks we've seen recently, we've been wondering when we will get an official reveal of everything that we'll be seeing in stores on September 4th. Luckily, Lucasfilm has just revealed all the details on a huge event that they describe as a "New Year’s Eve style celebration" that is set to pull the curtain back on all the Episode VII goodies we're anticipating and lead directly into the Force Friday festivities.
StarWars.com has announced that Lucasfilm and Disney have partnered with Maker Studios to host a live global unboxing event that will begin on September 2nd and will take place over 18 hours, ending just before stores open making all the items available to buy. The event will be streamed on the official Star Wars YouTube channel and will be hosted by an assortment of personalities from 15 different cities and 12 countries. The hosts will consist of a variety of YouTubers such as EvanTubeHD, AlexBy11 and Chris Pirillo who are know for their toy unboxing videos, gaming and more.
Several of the reveals will take place at the YouTube spaces in several locations across the world and the stream itself will be hosted by Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni from the YouTube space in Los Angeles, California. StarWars.com provided a full schedule of events, detailing when each reveal will take place, who will be hosting and where they will be hailing from. You can check that out below:
About the event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had this to say:
“Star Wars toys have always played an important role in how our fans interact with the saga. They’ve inspired multiple generations to relive the experience of the movies and to create new adventures all their own. These spectacular Star Wars: The Force Awakens products will continue that tradition.”
In addition, they released a short video featuring the biggest Star Wars collector of them all, Steve Sansweet, among others, discussing Force Friday:
Many stores worldwide are set to take part in the celebration, including select Disney Stores. Lucasfilm encourages fans taking part to use the hashtag #ForceFriday when posting on social media about their experiences.

Anticipation is building as Star Wars Celebration Anaheim is only 13 days away! While thousands of Star Wars fans from around the world anxiously look forward to making the journey to Southern California, the awesome team at StarWars.com are taking a look back at the biggest moments from past Celebrations. The site, via the official Star Wars YouTube channel, releases top ten lists every so often covering various topics. This time, in addition to the normal StarWars.com team, several big name guests were included in the discussion, including Pablo Hidalgo, of the Lucasfilm story group, Mary Franklin, Mary Franklin, ReedPOP's event director, Pete Vilmur of Lucasfilm publicity, and others. The video includes snippets of their conversation along with clips from actual events being talked about. Check it out below!

A new Star Wars centric YouTube show has hit the web and it's produced by some familiar faces! "The Comlink" is hosted by David Collins, who has a long history with the Star Wars Saga. Most will know him as a sound designer on many Star Wars video games and most notably as the voice of PROXY in The Force Unleashed game series. David is joined by Producer/Director J.C. Reifenberg and Producer Ruark Dreher, whom you might know as the creators behind the 2011 fanfilm Hughes The Force. The first episode, which is nearly 10 minutes long ,was launched today on Kevin Smith's Seesmod YouTube channel and features a rundown of some of the latest Star Wars news and a great interview with James Arnold Taylor. Collins and Taylor discuss the recently released Star Wars: Clone Warsstory reel episodes and Obi-Wan's cameo in Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion, whom James voices. Also be sure to check out the over half-hour long extended interview with JAT linked at the end of the video.

YouTube sensation PewDiePie has jumped on the Force For Change bandwagon with a brand new video! The hugely popular video game commentator, who is currently the most subscribed YouTuber overall, released a video today where he challenged a squad of Stomrtroopers to a staring contest, charades and a dance off all to promote the Force For Change initiative to support Unicef. In honor of May the 4th, know to us as "International Star Wars day", Lucasfilm and Disney have partnered with YouTube Space LA and several popular YouTube filmakers to create four short films that take place in the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina. Two of the films have already been released and the others are expected to hit the web in the coming days. Check them out below!
The first film titled "Clash At The Cantina" features famous YouTubers Cory Vidal(ApprenticeA), Craig Benzine (Wheezy Waiter) and Shay Carl doing their own funny & wacky version of the classic Cantina scene from A New Hope:
Next is a film done by Bored Shorts TV called "Kid Snippets" which features another remake of the same scene with actors acting out and lip syncing lines lines said by Children. Hilarity ensues:
