The Official Star Wars YouTube channel unveiled a new clip from the newest addition to the ongoing Yoda Chronicles animated series, titled "Race for the Holocrons." The show's timeline has obviously moved into the Original Trilogy era as Darth Vader is featured prominently in the clip as he makes his way into the Mos Eisley Cantina. Hilarity ensues as he sets off the Droid sensor inside. Check it out below:

"The Yoda Chronicles" DVD Coming October 15th

Lucasfilm has announced that the first two Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles specials will be coming to DVD on October 15th.  The DVD includes The Phantom Clone and Menace of the Sith and will be a Wal Mart exclusive in the U.S

Read the official announcement below:

The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm announced today that LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, featuring the hit animated specials "The Phantom Clone" and "Menace of the Sith," will release on DVD this October. The two original 22-minute specials offer brand new epic adventures with everyone's favorite LEGO Star Wars characters -- and a major new one, as well. Distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, the DVD will be available exclusively in the United States at Wal Mart beginning October 15. For international release information, please check with your local retailer.

"The Phantom Clone" and "Menace of the Sith" are both original stories filled with action-packed comic adventures that are brick-smashing fun and feature characters, locations, and vehicles well-known across the entire LEGO Star Wars universe.

In "The Phantom Clone," the action-packed adventure begins when Darth Sidious unveils his plan to create a new super-weapon -- an enhanced Sith clone named Jek-14 -- to help him defeat the Republic once and for all. It's up to Jedi Master Yoda and his young Padawan students to work together and save the galaxy!

In "Menace of the Sith," Count Dooku uses his new and improved Clone-a-Matic to create an army of Jek clones, but the original Jek-14 wants no part of the sinister scheme. Now, with the help of some old friends and two familiar Droids, substitute teacher Anakin Skywalker must lead Yoda's Padawan class to victory.

Stay tuned to StarWars.com for more on LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles!

What's odd about this release is that it only includes the first two episodes of the trilogy, while the third special (which hasn't even aired on television yet) is nowhere to be found.  Why not either release the first two episodes separately or wait for the third one to air and do one release for the entire trilogy?

Regardless October 15th will be a big day for fans of Star Wars on TV as The Clone Wars Season 5 Box Set and Complete Series Box Set both come out that day along side The Yoda Chronicles.

Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles: Menace of the Sith Release Date

Star Wars Celebration may have concluded, yet there is still a lot more Star Wars on the horizon. The Yoda Chronicles return for another instalment and it should be much anticipated. The previous Lego specials have been fantastic (including the latest Lego: Empire Strikes Back) and therefore we should all expect something similar for the upcoming instalment Menace of the Sith. The programme airs on the 4th September this year and I think we should all be looking forward to another Lego Star Wars special. I foresee the force being strong with this one! The official Lucas film description is stated below:
LEGO Jedi, Sith, and clones return! LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, a three-part animated special filled with action and humor, continues with "Menace of the Sith," premiering on Wednesday, September 4 at 8:00 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network.
In "Menace of the Sith," Darth Sidious shows off the new Sith clone, JEK 14, an extremely powerful weapon of the dark side. However, JEK has a mind of his own and wants to be his own master. It's up to Yoda and the Jedi to stop the Sith -- and to try and bring JEK 14 to the side of good.
The Yoda Chronicles is written by Michael Price (The Simpsons) and produced by Wil Film, and marks the first time entirely new Star Wars characters and vehicles have been created specifically for LEGO Star Wars.

Three "Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles" Specials Coming in 2013!

While they may be losing Clone Wars, Cartoon Network isn't losing all Star Wars.  The network has announced that three Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles Specials will be airing in 2013.  The specials will air quarterly and are a "new CG-animated foray into the “Original Saga” world of Star Wars."  No word yet on what the relationship (if any) these specials will have to the currently ongoing Lego Star Wars web series also titled The Yoda Chronicles.  No release dates for the specials have been announced.  Cartoon Network gives the following description of the specials:

LEGO Star Wars returns in epic style with THE YODA CHRONICLES, a thrilling, funny and action-packed new LEGO Star Wars story told in three animated TV specials! Set in the “Prequel” Star Wars timeline, THE YODA CHRONICLES stars the one and only Yoda—the Jedi Master who has seen it all, done it all, and taught generations of Jedi Knights—in an all-new adventure. With the help of a fresh class of Padawans, Yoda leads the Jedi in a desperate fight to stop Darth Sidious and his minions from creating a new super-weapon that could crush the Republic and win the war for the forces of Evil.
