EXCLUSIVE! MAD Magazine "Star Wars Fans Then And Now" Parody Revealed

The SWU is thrilled to exclusively unveil the latest Star Wars themed parody in MAD Magazine.  The comic will appear in the next issue of MAD, which will be available digitally February 13th and on new stands on February 24th, is titled "Star Wars Fans Then and Now" and highlights the way anticipation for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is different from anticipation for previous films.  The comic is illustrated by artist Rich Powell.  Check it out below,

The cover for the issue, #532, features Alfred E. Neuman dressed as a The Force Awakens stormtrooper (below).  The issue also features parodies of House of Cards, 2 Broke Girls, Lego, and more.  This is hardly the first time MAD has parodied Star Wars.  The relationship between Mad Magazine and Star wars goes all the way back to January 1978 and since then Star Wars has graced the cover ten times, and been featured within the pages of MAD countless times.

EXCLUSIVE: More Details About Lupita Nyong'o's Role in 'The Force Awakens'

Continuing our run of revealing new, exclusive inside information about Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens on the SWU Podcast we have something new for you about Lupita Nyong'o's character.  It was previously reported that Nyong'o's character was code named Rose and was portrayed through motion capture.  Now we can tell you that here character is an elderly, female alien with orange skin.

EXCLUSIVE: Star Tours to Get 'The Force Awakens' Expansion

As we revealed on tonight's SWU podcast, we heard from a inside source that the first Star Wars addition coming to the Disney Parks is a Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens portion of the popular Star Tours: The Adventure Continues ride.  Our source revealed that work is being done right now on a new mission that will be added to the ride in the future that directly ties in with The Force Awakens.  Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed recently that they were looking to have a strong presence from the new films in the planned Star Wars additions to the Disney Parks.

EXCLUSIVE: Code Name for 2016 Stand Alone Film Revealed

On tonight's SWU Podcast we made not one but two reveals!  The first was of a new droid from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, the second one deals with the mysterious 2016 Star Wars Stand Alone film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Gary Whitta.  This information was given to us by a source close to the production.  We're not going to issue a spoiler alert because this code name likely has little to do with the plot (though that won't stop us from speculating). 

The code name is: Los Alamos.

EXCLUSIVE: Image of 'The Force Awakens' Droid Revealed!

We at The SWU are very excited to share with you guys an exclusive piece of concept art, given to us by a source close to the production, of a droid from the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.  This droid we believe will play a significant role in the new film.  While I wouldn't qualify this as a major spoiler, if you don't want to know anything about The Force Awakens before it comes out then stop reading now.  This is your official SPOILER ALERT!

Those of you that have been following the The Force Awakens rumors will notice that image lines up perfectly with previous descriptions of the droid which stated, "The droid is barely boot high. The body is probably a little bigger than a basketball. The body is round, of course. The head is probably as big as a cantaloupe. The droid’s body is white and grey. However, the highlight markings are orange. No matter how the design changes, the head features a big black lens for an eye. The head is somewhat similar to a Pit Droid in some concept with Artoo-Detoo markings and features. The head is a dome like that of an Artoo unit in most designs.  

In addition, it lines up perfectly with this mock up the droid our friends over at MakingStarWars.net posted early this week,

We believe this droid will belong to Daisy Ridley's character (whom is rumored to be named "Kira") and will be featured throughout the film (in a R2-D2-esque role).
