DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: ERIC BERRY "CAPTAIN REX's AT-TE"

This Rebels version of Captain Rex's AT-TE is a custom that many artist wanted to build ever since season 2 of Rebels premiered. Probably the coolest custom I came across since the start of the new year, Eric Berry's Rebels AT-TE with all the add-ons gave an already large vehicle an even bigger presence. There’s so many delicate parts and an abundance of details crammed into this lush playset. Eric admits that he had to “split the difference” on some things, as the toy is close to 80% in scale to the figures. As a result, some things like the cannon are somewhat bigger than they should be, even after compressing the parts in size. For example, he stated that you can’t pivot the cannon too far or it eventually hits the antennae. Most of it was scratch built. Lots of tiny little parts and details. Other cool features are a working rear door, cranes that rotate and pivot, and a folding rear ladder. My favorite part of the build was the work he did on the interior. He made only one bunk since they’d sleep in shifts, on the floor, or in hammocks in the command center. Then he tossed in a couple chairs, and a dejarik table. Opposite the bunk is a small galley and up on the wall they have a mounted battle droid head, “Clanker”, as a joke from their former days in the Grand Army. Other features inside include a rifle rack, welding gear, and storage above the bunk. Almost all parts are plastic except for some cargo boxes that were wood and skinned in styrene.

Dave Filoni Reveals Intriguing 'Star Wars Rebels' Details At Season Finale Screening

By: Benjamin Hart

Tomorrow the Star Wars Rebels season two finale episode "Twilight Of The Apprentice" will air on Disney XD and we can only assume it will be an eventful and emotional end to the season. Last night Lucasfilm and Disney hosted a press event and private screening of the episode. Afterward, a Q & A was held, modrated by Amy Ratcliffe, which included executive producer Dave Filoni along with other members of the cast and crew. Filoni has become infamous for being coy about answering certain questions regarding his projects, but it seems he was being a bit candid last night. Our friend Bryan Young from Big Shiny Robot was there and tweeted a few interesting things Filoni said during the event.

First of all, ever since it was revealed that Captain Rex would be joining the cast of Rebels, there has been an interesting theory floating around connecting the series with Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. The theory states that the older, bearded Rebel soldier seen on Endor is actually Rex. While he doesn't necessarily confirm the speculation, it appears Filoni does subscribe to this theory:

Secondly, we get something more concrete from Filoni regarding a connection between Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels. We previously learned in the Star Wars Rebels episode "Shroud Of Darkness" that [Spoiler alert!] The Grand Inquisitor, seen in the first season of the series, was previously a Jedi Temple guard. Several guards were seen in The Clone Wars season five finale episode "The Wrong Jedi", but Filoni specifically confirms that the Grand Inquisitor was among the guards that arrested Ahsoka Tano and Barris Offee in that episode:

It's always fun to hear what Dave has to say, espcially when he's dropping nuggets of information like this! I, for one, will never watch The Clone Wars or Return Of The Jedi the same way again.

Season two of Star Wars Rebels kicked off earlier this week with the premiere episode "The Lost Commanders". That episode ended on an enticing cliffhanger that left our heroes stranded with Clone Troopers Rex, Wolffe and Gregor on the planet Seelos anticipating an attack by the Empire. Lucasfilm has released a clip from the next episode titled "Relics Of The Old Republic". In the footage, the crew assesses their situation and prepares to leave the planet, meanwhile in space, Hera and Chopper get an unfortunate surprise. You can watch the clip in full below:

Two New 'Star Wars Rebels' Season Two Clips Revealed

By: Benjamin Hart

Tomorrow season two of the hit animated series Star Wars Rebels kicks off with the brand new episode "The Lost Commanders" which features the return of three beloved Clones from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Today we have been treated to, not one, but two clips from the episode. The first comes from IGN and shows Kanan, Ezra, Zeb and Sabine meeting the Clones, and ends in a tense standoff. In the second clip, which comes from ComicBook.com, the confrontation is diffused with the mention of a mutual friend. Check them both out below:

Interestingly, Rex mentions that he fought alongside Ahsoka "from the battle of Christophsis to the siege Of Mandalore". The siege of Mandalore is an event that we have actually yet to see. That story was originally set to be told in an episode arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but the series ended before those episodes could be finished. Dave Filoni subsequently revealed concept art from those episodes which gave us a brief glimpse at what they had in store. Perhaps Rebels will finally fill us in on what that story entailed.

"The Lost Commanders" premieres tomorrow(Wednesday) at 9:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD!

Exclusive Showing of Star Wars Rebels: Season Two Episodes At NYCC

By Ciaran Duggan,

In October, comic fans will be graced with the return of New York Comic Con. If you are a Star Wars Fan, this will certainly be a comic con you do not want to miss!

Today, Lucasfilm has announced that attendees of New York Comic Con will be provided the opportunity to watch an exclusive preview of what is to come in Season Two of Star Wars Rebels. This will be revealed at the Star Wars Rebels panel on the Empire Stage [1:30-2:30pm], which will include a range of special guests linked to the TV series.

To cap this off, the exclusive showing of the first two episodes from Season Two will take place at New York Comic Con. This will be screened on the same stage from 5:30-6:30pm. These episodes will feature the return of many iconic characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, including fan favourites - Ashoka Tano and Captain Rex.

To hype your anticipation up for the new series, here is the official description disclosed by Lucasfilm about Season Two of Rebels:

"As the second season of Star Wars Rebels opens, the crew of the Ghost is now a very real threat to the Empire. That's bad news, because Darth Vader's been assigned with the task of mopping them up. Undeterred, the rebels seek out old friends and new allies, hoping to rally the formidable alliance which began to crystallise at the end of Season One. Vader will dispatch new agents to counter their growing coalition, but the Sith Lord's battle with the Rebels could be more personal than anyone realised."
