Amy Hennig Talks About What Happened With The Visceral 'Star Wars' Game

Back in October it was announced that Electronic Arts would be shutting down their Visceral studio and that the Star Wars game Visceral had been working on since 2013 would be shifting to their Vancouver studio and going through a massive overhaul. The reports that followed made it clear that the game was as it was being developed was all but dead. The game's director Amy Hennig spoke recently about the game's shut down and how it impacted her during a discussion with Sean Vanaman for Polygon.  She doesn't go into the specifics of the shut down but she does discuss how the evolving video game industry led to the downfall.

Amy Hennig Explains Why Her 'Star Wars' Game Wasn't Featured at EA Play

This past weekend brought a tonne of gaming news this weekend, with the debut of a new trailer and gameplay from the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II.  While the game's debut was met with great excitement, there have been questions about why none of the other games that EA is working (besides A Galaxy of Heroes) were featured in the presentation?  By comparison, last year EA's presentation at E3 featured a video spotlighting all the projects the various game studios at EA are working on.

Amy Hennig Talks About Working on a 'Star Wars' Video Game

The Star Wars video game in production from Visceral is still two years away, but the team is hard at work on developing the first non-Battlefront game from EA since they acquired the Star Wars licence in 2013. The team is led by creative director Amy Hennig, who was also creative director on the Uncharted series.  We were given our first look at the game back at E3 earlier this year.  Hennig spoke with Glixel recently about her career and offered a few hints and tidbits about what it's like working on Star Wars.
