George Lucas Asks JJ Abrams About Darth Vader's Grandchildren

By: Dominic Jones

Vanity Fair released a new video on their YouTube channel today of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams answering questions from other celebrities, including Star Wars creator George Lucas.  Lucas posed the question to JJ of what happens to Darth Vader's grandchildren?

"You tell me man, you made all this sh*t up," replied Abrams, who was clearly amused by being asked a Star Wars question by the creator Star Wars.

Check out the video below for yourself to see Lucas, as well as several other celebrities (including Jared Leto wanting to know why he wasn't cast as Chewbacca in The Force Awakens) asking Abrams question below,

I have to say it was nice to see a small exchange between the two, especially a humorous one.  It's nice to see the man who created Star Wars able to joke around (albeit, via a pre-recorded question) with the guy charged with kick starting the franchise once more.

  1. Maybe Disney didn't discard Lucas's treatment for the ST. FYI

  3. to me this actually reveals something. to me this is a massive clue that the direct lineage of the skywalkers will not necesarily be dealt with in the force awakens. to me its a backhanded question from lucas, taking advantage of a spot with vanity fair to confront his anger that disney discarded his desire for the direct lineage to be the center focal point. JJ abrams side steps the question without making us realize its actually a criticism of the direction jj took the story in

    1. I agree, but didn't they say the new films are about the skywalkers?... oh they wouldn't lie to us would they?... Not JJ!?... oh, erm!

  4. Darth Vader doesn't have any grandchildren anymore. Disney wiped all four of them from existence!
