"Force Friday" is now exactly one week away, which means we are just seven days away from being even more inundated with Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens merchandise and imagery. A new image of the heroes of the film, Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron has been spotted by the @StarWarsJunk Twitter, who claim that this is a new Hasbro Toy Poster. Check it out below,

After yesterday's Instagram teaser for the film, it seems that imagery of Finn wielding that lightsaber is fair game. Not that we're complaining in the slightest. This also appears to be the same image that popped up as a wall graphic not tool long ago.
No word yet on when or how fans will be able to get their hands on this poster.

I still don't understand how a stormtrooper who was just handed a lightsaber is going to square off against Kylo Ren. At least for more than a few seconds.
ReplyDeleteHe's force sensitive, and will probably be trained by Luke
DeleteJimmy - maybe that's the point? Forces someone long out of play into action.
DeleteMaybe ;)
Maybe the film spans longer than most SW films and he has time to learn. Either that or he just looks confident and then gets his butt kicked and is saved by Han or Luke. I find it interesting that the marketing keeps flip-floping which of the "big 3" in front. Looks to me that we may have less of a single "main character" than in the previous two trilogies.
ReplyDelete@ Jimmy it has been stated that Kylo Ren is going through a similar journey to Luke in the OT. He isn't a fully trained bad ass yet, but we will see him progress through the trilogy. It looks like they are going to do some parallelism with Finn's Jedi journey to Kylo's dark side journey.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is the fight will start, Finn will do his best to defend himself, just when Kylo is about to swing the final blow some big explosion from a laser blast or epic thing happens that during the confusion allows Finn to escape with his friends leaving behind Kylo. Only a guess.
ReplyDeletei think elizabeth nailed it. both kylo and finn are "rookies"... they'll have their little scrap in the snowy woods and it'll be sloppy and passionate but nobody will be able to gain the upper hand as neither is at all experienced. kylo looks like a badass because he's crafted himself to look that way due to his obsession with the sith lore, not because he's fully trained.
ReplyDeletei think it's brilliant if done right. their fight in epIX should be lightyears ahead of their fight in epVII (and all their run-ins with each other in between should resemble a progression).
